Cherry's for the Orchard

This is where our journey begins with selecting varieties of fruit, flowers, and trees for Wildwood. As we work towards the goals of clearing the land and planning out the gardens and orchards, we have selected a few fruit trees and berry bushes for trial. Nanking Cherry is one of the fruit varieties we are growing in pots and have been very pleased with the success and beauty of this bush. This is the first year that these cherry bushes have set fruit. The small cherries are not only a beautiful red color, but they pair perfect with the bright green foliage. Together, the pairing is a perfect ornamental bush for the orchard or garden. We are very pleased with this variety and plan to add these bushes in the orchard.

A New Year for the Farm

Our family spent Christmas in the mountains at the family cabin. We had a wonderful time that was very relaxing and peaceful. We brought the New Year in at home. We are looking forward to starting some new projects on the land and beginning the much-anticipated start of the pastures, gardens, and orchards at Wildwood.

The fifty-acre farm is half wooded and half pasture. Situated in hills, it has lovely pastoral views leading to the edge of the woodlands. We cleared an opening on the land and created the pastures for the garden areas and orchards. As we work on the plans and design layout, we thought it would be fun to share our vision with you, so you can follow the journey here at Wildwood.
